MSET’s Nominations and Credentials Committee would like to announce the Call for Nominations. All current MSET members can nominate a colleague, or yourself, to serve on the executive board with the term beginning on July 1, 2021.  Nominations are open from April 15, 2021 - April 30, 2021.
MSET is looking for organized, energetic teachers, administrators, supervisors, instructional technology directors, library/media specialists, and/or curriculum specialists at all levels of education that have shown interest in using technology to improve teaching and learning.
To serve in an elected position you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

      • For President Elect: Currently an active MSET member with leadership experience. Experience with Google Docs preferred.
      • For Secretary: Currently an active MSET member with leadership experience. Experience with Google Docs preferred.
      • For Treasurer: Currently an active MSET member with leadership experience, as well as experience with Excel, and banking apps.
      • Commitment to attend MSET Executive Board Meetings and MSET Business Meetings. These meetings may be held during the weekday and/or evenings. MSET’s Executive Board approves the President’s yearly meeting schedule by the Fall Executive Board Meeting. 
      • Represent and believe in the vision, mission and goals of MSET.
      • Be aware of and understand the current MSET Bylaws.

      • Only current MSET members are able to nominate, vote, or serve in an elected position
      • MSET Officers include the President, President-Elect, Past-President, Secretary, and Treasurer
      • The following positions are elected by the general membership: President-Elect (to serve as President after 2 years) Treasurer, and Secretary (with President, Past President, and President Elect serving two year terms)
      • MSET Executive Board is comprised of MSET Officers and MSET Committee Chairs and Co-Chairs

The following positions are currently open:

1.  President Elect - If elected as President Elect you will serve your first term as President-Elect, the second term as President, and the third term as Past-President.  As President-Elect, you act in the absence of the President. See President’s job description below:

Duties and Responsibilities:  The President shall be the chief executive officer of the Corporation, shall have the responsibility for the general management of the affairs of the Corporation, and shall carry out the resolutions of the Executive Committee. The president shall preside over the meetings of the Corporation and its Executive Committee, shall appoint such committees as are necessary to conduct the Corporation’s business, shall serve as ex-officio on such committees, and shall be the official representative of the Corporation before the public and other educational bodies.

2.  Secretary - The Secretary shall be the official record keeper of all MSET meetings. This position can be served for more than two years, but is re-elected every two years.

Duties and Responsibilities:  The Secretary will provide minutes and take notes at all meetings and assist the President with the development of the agenda for all meetings.

3.  Treasurer - The Treasurer shall be the financial officer for MSET. This position can be served for more than two years, but is re-elected every two years.

Duties and Responsibilities:  The Treasurer shall have the care and custody of all the funds and securities of the Corporation, and shall deposit said funds in the name of the Corporation in such bank accounts as the Executive Board may from time to time determine. The Treasurer shall, when duly authorized by the Executive Board, sign and execute all contracts in the name of the Corporation. The Treasurer may also sign checks, drafts, notes and orders for the payment of money, which shall have been duly authorized by the Executive Board. The Treasurer shall be responsible for preparing and filing all necessary tax forms.

All nominations will be reviewed by MSET’s Nominations & Credentials Committee, and presented to the MSET Executive Board for final approval.  If accepted, you will be contacted and your name will be added to the ballot for the MSET 2021 Elections.  If you have any questions about the elections please contact Katie Lingg, MSET President.  For more information on the elections please visit Nominations must be received by April 30, 2021.
