It is with great pleasure that we announce the following nominee's for our 2021-2022 MSET Executive Board!

President-Elect:  Dr. Brandie Shatto


Current Position: Associate Professor and Program Director, Educational Technology for University of Maryland Global Campus

Professional Memeberships:  MSET member, ISTE member, Google Educator, ISTE Certified Educator.

Bio: Dr. Brandie Shatto is an Associate Professor and Program Director for Educational Technology at UMGC. She has more than 14 years of experience as a K-12 educator, technology integration specialist, and administrator. Dr. Shatto began her career as a middle school English teacher Pennsylvania, where she also served as a technology integration specialist and technology director. At Big Spring School District (BSSD), she launched several successful educational programs, including a district-wide 1:1 program and several educational software implementations. She holds a master’s degree from Bloomsburg University in instructional technology and an Ed.D. from University of New England in educational leadership. Dr. Shatto is an active member of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), as well as an ISTE Certified Educator. She is a lifelong learner who believes that technology can be leveraged to provide authentic, relevant, and customized learning experiences for students.


Secretary:  Renee Henderson

Current Position: Instructional Technology Specialist, Prince George's County Public Schools

Professional Memberships:  Alpha Delta Kappa Educator Sorority - Chapter President, District Chairperson , State Executive Board, Presenter at ISTE Annual Conference , Presenter and feature worksop leader at FETC ,  Planning Committee for Prince George's County annual Technology Conference, Code.org Training Leader for Maryland state.

Bio: Renee Henderson is an Instructional Technology Specialist in Prince George’s County Public Schools. She has been an educator in the county for 30 years 19 of those years as a member of the technology training team. She is dedicated to providing relevant and engaging professional development to educators in our district. Emerging and cutting edge technologies are her passions . In addition to being a Google levels One and Two educator, she is a certified facilitator for code.org, and trainer for Breakout Edu. Renee as presented frequently at local and national conferences and participated in workshops at Google Headquarters and nationally with EdTechTeam. Renee is also and EdCamp Coordinator. Renee serves on the board of MSET (Maryland Society of Educational Technology) as the Advocacy Chairperson. She has been recognized by MSET’s Digital Learning Showcase as Featured educator.

Treasurer:  Tracy Schoene


Current Position: Director of Technology, Harford Day School

Professional Memberships:  She has been a member of MICCA/MSET for 25 years, and has served on a variety of committees and held several board positions. She also currently serves as the President of Common Ground, MD, and the Past President of the Maryland Society for Educational Technology (MSET).  She is a member of ISTE, AIMS, CEASOM, and NAIS

Bio: Tracy Schoene has worked in education for over 25 years. She began in Baltimore County Public Schools in Maryland as a classroom teacher, where she taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades during her tenure. In 2000, she became the Lower School Technology Coordinator at Roland Park Country School in Baltimore. Tracy began working at Harford Day School in 2006 as the Educational Technology Coordinator, and was promoted to Director of Technology in 2014, a position she still holds today. Tracy has a BA in Elementary Education from Loyola University Maryland, and a MS in Technology in Education from Johns Hopkins University.  She has been a member of MICCA/MSET for 25 years, and has served on a variety of committees and held several board positions. She also currently serves as the President of Common Ground, MD, and the Past President of the Maryland Society for Educational Technology (MSET).  She is a member of ISTE, AIMS, CEASOM, and NAIS. Tracy is the 2017 recipient of the ISTE Making IT Happen award, and was named Teacher of the Year for Harford Day School in 2010.
